Gorgeous maternity photos by Adrienne Zwart Photography

Nichole and her mom stopped by my booth at the Akron Baby and Child Expo and booked her maternity and newborn photo sessions.  We met at my home studio and then headed out to this gorgeous summer field near my house that was sprinkled with Queen Anne’s lace.

Why Book a Maternity Photo Session?

You might be wondering why you should do a maternity photo session.  After all, the “star” of the show hasn’t arrived yet.  🙂 And you are worried that you will be feeling rather uncomfortable.  And what would you do with these portraits?

Well, once your newborn arrives on the scene, it is fairly likely that you are going to be the one behind the camera most of the time.  One day, you want your child to look through the family pictures and see some of you, too.  Maybe you won’t hang a maternity portrait on the wall in your living room, but it would be lovely in a small frame in the nursery.  Maternity photos also make a lovely beginning to your newborn’s photo album.

As for your comfort level, we suggest you schedule your session between 32-34 weeks of pregnancy.  Far enough along that your baby bump is clearly visible, but not so far along that you are uncomfortable from swelling and fatigue.  These are also shorter sessions–just between 30 to 45 minutes–to minimize wearing you out.

And, in case you were wondering, dads are welcome, too!
