Snow Day Photo Session {Akron Family Photography}

Winter Family Portrait Session in the Snow with Adrienne Zwart Photography, Akron Family PhotographerBack in August, Dr. Spoonhower told me that he and his wife really wanted to do their portrait session in the snow this year and wondered how that would work. “Oh, that’s easy,” I told him.  “I create a list of people who request wintry photo sessions and when we get a good snow, I start down the list to see who is available.”  I told him to expect a call as early as November.

We then had the warmest winter we have seen in years here in Northeast Ohio. :) By the end of January, I had pretty much given up that we were going to have suitable snow for a wintry portrait session.  And then we had the most glorious snowfall the second week in February.  The kids had a snow day, mom had the day off and he was able to leave work a bit early so we could catch the last bit of daylight.  As a bonus, it was wasn’t bitterly cold and windy outside!

And of course, you can’t pass up a fun snowball fight when the portrait session is over!  I love working with this fun family!Fun Snowball fight to end the family photo session in the snow

Would you like to schedule your family portrait session?

I am currently booking for summer of 2016.  Of course, if you want your own snow day family photo session, I can put you on the list for this coming winter.  (Even though this is NE Ohio and the weather can change drastically, I’m fairly certain that spring is here to stay.)  Click on the contact tab above to get started.

Emma – Sitter Milestone Session

Emma at 6 months sitting upEmma’s parents received a gift certificate and used it to purchase a Milestone Session.  What’s that?  I’m glad you asked. 😉  Milestone sessions are shorter sessions just for babies and toddlers that can last up to 45 minutes with outfit changes if the baby tolerates that. Baby milestone sessions can be done at any time, but typically we focus on the big three milestones:  sitting, standing and walking.  Honestly, my favorite are the sitting and standing sessions and that’s just because once they start walking, it’s a little harder to keep them on the set.  :)Often parents will opt to do a one year session with a cake smash instead of the walking stage session, just because the first birthday is a big milestone, too.  Those are really fun!Emma at 6 months sitting up

A milestone session focuses on one child, though I do have parents come dressed for pictures, too, just in case.

Tino – Springfield High School Class of 2016

Last year, I had the privilege of photographing 5 younger siblings of previous senior clients. While it’s particularly gratifying to be hired again by a family, the fun part about these younger sibling senior portrait sessions has been seeing their individuality. Obviously, in some cases there are definite similarities, some in physical appearance, some in personality traits.  But these younger sibs are definitely unique.  And it’s exciting to help them showcase their talents and celebrate their turn in the spotlight.

I first met Tino at his sister’s outdoor senior session.  He was happy to tag along to the park because he could shoot hoops while we busy photographing.  Wingfoot Lake Park is a place of family memories and that’s where he wanted to do his outdoor photos, too.  I still have a hard time believing this was at the end of January and we were able to be outside for the first 45 minutes of his session!  (Praise God for fluke warm spells!)  We finished up in my home studio and had a blast.  Tino enjoys expressing his style and he is the perfect example of why even guys should bring along accessories.  He brought a ton of outfits to choose from and he looked confident and fantastic in every one of them.

Baby Tenley – 8 Days Old {Akron, OH Newborn Photography}

Tenley - 8 Day Old Newborn Session by Adrienne Zwart Photography, newborn photographer in Akron and Canton Ohio

Little Miss Tenley came to see me last May.  She was such a tiny and sweet baby!  How could I have missed sharing her newborn session with you all?  Well, I blame graduation party preparation!  I think when my next child graduates (which is fortunately still three and a half years away) I will take the month of May off.  And maybe the first week of June, too. 😉

But without further delay, here are some of my favorites from Tenley’s newborn photo session.

Since it was spring, I wanted to incorporate some beautiful soft colors into this session.  Most of my props and backdrops are neutral, so adding color with wraps and hats or headbands is really easy.  (I prefer to use the wraps rather than store-purchased clothing which usually a little too big and doesn’t fit well.  I also have some handmade outfits that are perfect for newborns.)Tenley - 8 Day Old Newborn Session by Adrienne Zwart Photography, newborn photographer in Akron and Canton Ohio
