One of the traditions we incorporate into our fall activities each year is apple picking. The kids really enjoy plucking the apples from the trees, and their appetite for apples is never more enthusiastic than when they can eat them freshly-picked right there in the orchard. We end up with many more apples than we really need, but then we have an excuse to bake all sorts of apple treats. Apple pie is my favorite!
